Looking for a place to hide out until winter is over without giving up your social life? Nitehawk Cinema is the answer.
Nitehawk Cinema, located on the east side of Williamsburg, is a hipster, artsy hangout with a twist. Sit back, relax and enjoy getting your regular dose of culture with a selection of independent, foreign and classic films, curated for quality. And of course you can watch it all in luxury; enjoy the big, comfy sofas and chairs and grab a cocktail from the bar or a pizza from the restaurant to complete the perfect night in (but out).

Right now, they’re showing Waves (2019), Knives Out (2019), JoJo Rabbit (2019), Parasite (2019), Knives and Skin (2019) and Black Christmas (1974). Waves stars Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Taylor Russel, telling the story of a suburban African-American family in South Florida, as they deal with issues of forgiveness and familial love in the wake of loss. You can watch the trailer and find out more here.
There are also Friday and Saturday night “Midnite” movies, starting at 12am, every week. This month, they’re showing Knives and Skin (2019), which traces the investigation of a young girl’s disappearance in a rural Midwest town, led by an inexperienced local sherriff, making for a chilling teen noir filled with a bitter loss of innocence (watch the trailer here).

There are even different dining special to suit each of the movies on show. Nitehawk puts together food and drinking pairings. Right now if you go to see The Waves, you can enjoy a vodka cocktail (“In Tyler’s Shadow”) and a Cuban-spiced burger big enough to share.
There’s also a full menu which includes vegan and gluten free options (we love the vegan popcorn and the “Beyond” vegan burger) and you can order your food and drink during the film and have a friendly server bring it to your table. You can even drop by the intimate bar after your movie for a cosy answer to a winter’s night out.
